What is water monitoring?
Throughout the year, GPA volunteers regularly conduct water-quality tests to monitor and track many metrics, including phosphorus levels. Our water monitoring efforts have recently expanded to educate boaters and property owners about invasive plant species.
Why is this important?
Regular water testing and analysis, conducted by the State of Maine’s laboratory in Augusta, provides up-to-date information about the health of the pond, including phosphorus levels and the presence of invasive plant species.
